Antojitos Doña Fela
A Quartet of Family Matriarchs
Felicitas Vargas—together with her daughter, granddaughter, and sister—opened the first-ever Peruvian food truck in Queens. Felicitas is no stranger to hard work or entrepreneurship; she’s been taking care of herself since a very young age.
Her business is a reflection of that history, infused with grit, a lot of laughter, and a deep love of Peruvian cooking. On the side of her food truck, she proudly shares one of the many lessons life has taught her:
“Para triunfar en la vida hay que tener las pelotas de toro ‘Menelik’ que nunca fue vencido.”
“To succeed in life, you need to have the balls of the bull ‘Menelik,’ who was never defeated.”
At Antojitos Doña Fela, the family serves Peruvian classics made with care, and infused with seasonings they source directly from Peru. Their menu includes tamales, empanadas, beloved stews like Chanfainita and Cau Cau, ceviche, and even traditional desserts.
